I could refer you to my writings, but I doubt the comment format is going to be a mind changer for you. We are conditioned from birth to see truth as power. It is the handhold in the zero gravity environment of our existence from which we can thrust and maneuver. It is default thinking.
The main reason to abandon it is because it creates limits and restrictions about reality and existence, and therefore limits our imagination and becomes the grip of power monopolies. The non-realist view allows the possibility of all phenomena, and is not conducive to linguistic and ideological coercion.
Think of realism as default software. Or bumper lanes or training wheels. A device whose goal is to create conditions in which the device no longer becomes necessary. It has existed as the primary operating system of conscious beings since the first simple 'organism' emerged. We are the spaceship to deliver life further by learning to create our experience without the beginner set of limitations. But first we have to make a conscious choice to think in that direction, otherwise you will get stuck in a loop of your biases. Few non-realists are born that way. They have to unlearn it in order to become open. Usually for the sake of philosophy, magic, art or other intellectual and creative pursuits. You are free whenever you choose to be.
