It appears that you din’t even know what socialism is. Socialism is state ownership of industry, and distribution of profits by the state. What everyone is calling democratic socialism is just fascism — private ownership of industry that is heavily regulated by the state with partial wealth redistribution. Add to that all of the desire for the state to regulate every aspect of life, and there is no doubt that democratic socialists are just naive fascists.
